Patty exemplifies the power of turning passion into possibility for others. Education, building relationships, experiencing something from multiple sides and having the courage to step in and lead seem to be key to Patty's success not just in her career but in her life. This is a great article that shows that each opportunity is also a step to another.

Hi,great post and perspective. As you point out the potential strain on B of A, I think we all hope they know what they’re doing. Rescuing them, it seems, would be the back-breaker.

I went to high school with Brandon Vick -- he's great!

And Howie Nielsen -- he's the best. He was a strong supporter of our Chill The Fill campaign to save the old subway tunnel downtown.

Oh -- righteous food, too!

How does a library get multiple copies from Rochester Woman Magazine. I've seen them at other Libraries, do you still drop them off? We would love some at the Arnett Branch Library. Thanks.

Children and vegetables, yes, they usually do not go together. My children too, do not like vegetables. But I would put a vegetable dish on the table anyway, and guess what? They would scoop some on their plates.

Here are a few items I always have in the pantry which can make a quick meal: 1) spaghetti sauce, 2) Japanese firm tofu (you can purchase this at Chinese grocery stores -- they come in individual boxes and do not need refrigeration. Add them to meat and/or vegetables plus use your imagination, and you have an Oriental inspired dish!), 3) Japanese curry (you can also purchase this at Chinese grocery stores -- they are cubes of pre-mixed curry, just drop it into cut up meat and/or vegetables and you have an exotic curry dish instantly!)

My husband and I both like cooking and trying new recipes. Part of the challenge in doing this is coming up with new ideas and having time to decide what we want to try. We have a common family email that we both access on our cell phones, so I subscribed us to a Daily Dish email that the All Recipes website sponsors. We each get the email and save the ones that are interesting. When the time comes to make our meal plan for the week, we have a quick chat to decide what we want to try and then we make our shopping list! This has saved us time and given us some fresh ideas for meals.

Determine what staples you use the most and keep well-stocked on those--for us, it's chicken and beef stock, canned tomato products, and a few random things. Also, keep flexible ingredients around like canned tuna, pasta sauce that needs nothing added, etc. so you'll be prepared when you don't have time to shop, drop the roast on the floor, or whatever!
